Francesco Datini was a merchant of Prato. He died in 1410. His letters and account books survived, and they still rebuild his whole business six centuries later.
We want every company’s records to do the same, the day they are made.
The data was never the problem.
Every company already records everything it does: every sale, every bill, every salary. Yet books close a month late, audits check a sample, and the forecast is stale by spring. Reading the records was what cost too much.
Almost all of accounting is arithmetic, and code does arithmetic for nothing. A small model is asked only the few questions code cannot settle. So a company’s whole finance function costs cents, not salaries.
Every answer shows its work.
Each answer says what holds, what does not, and what could not be verified. The ledger belongs to the company, and its records train nothing without its say.
