What Datini is
The books of a company, built from its bank and its documents, with evidence for every figure.
Datini builds a company's books from the records it already has: the bank statement, the books export, the invoices and receipts. You do not keep the books. Datini builds them, closes the month and forecasts the cash.
Every answer carries its evidence
Code computes every number. A small judge model settles the closed questions code cannot, such as whether this payment settles that invoice. Each figure links to the rows and bank lines behind it, and each answer says three things:
- What holds. The figures that tie out, and the records they tie to.
- What does not. Payments made twice, a supplier whose bank account changed, a customer paying later and later.
- What could not be verified. The records that are missing, and what would close the gap.
What it is for
- Bookkeeping. Books rebuilt from the bank and the documents, month by month, with a close you sign.
- Forecasting and budgeting. Month-end cash for the next six months, with a range measured on past forecasts.
- Due diligence and forensics. The same findings and evidence, read by a buyer, a lender or an auditor.
