Books and findings
The inbox, the books, and how each finding shows its evidence.
The inbox
A company opens on its inbox. Needs you holds what only you can settle, most money at stake first: questions the books raise and documents to ask for. Each item shows its evidence and what would close it.
The books
Books holds the statements: profit and loss on cash and accrual basis, the balance sheet, open invoices and bills, and VAT. Every figure opens to the rows behind it.
Evidence ids
Every record has an id, and findings cite them.
books:bp664is a row in the books.bank:wb2311is a line on the bank statement.
Amounts in the books are positive and the type gives the direction. Bank amounts are signed.
Findings
A finding is something the books do not explain on their own: a bill paid twice, a supplier whose bank details changed, a customer paying later each month. Mark a finding right or wrong, or move a line to another account. Each verdict is kept with the books.
Close a month
The Close tab checks a few random lines with you, then you sign the month. A signed month stays as signed.
